Torrance, CA (January 11, 2026) – An accident involving two vehicles resulted in injuries on the 405 Freeway near Crenshaw Blvd in Torrance, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported at approximately 2:33 p.m. in the southbound lanes.
First responders from Torrance Fire and emergency medical services arrived on scene shortly after the incident to evaluate those involved. At least one individual sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries has not been released.
The collision occurred during daytime hours in a heavily trafficked section of the freeway. While the specific cause of the accident remains under investigation, CHP officials confirmed that both vehicles sustained visible damage. Lanes were temporarily impacted while authorities worked to clear the roadway and gather initial evidence.
CHP is actively investigating the events leading up to the crash, including whether speed, distraction, or unsafe lane changes played a role.
