Arion, IA (July 21, 2026) – One woman died, and three others were injured when a train struck a Jeep early on Sunday, July 19. The collision occurred around 1:00 a.m. at the railroad crossing on Grace Street in Arion.
The Jeep came to rest in a nearby ditch after being hit. Three adults and one child were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. One occupant, identified as 24-year-old Sandra Factor Pano of Omaha, Nebraska, was later pronounced dead.
The initial report did not provide the identities or medical status of the other three people, but the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
