Understanding Large Truck Collisions on Highways
Collisions involving 18-wheelers can be particularly dangerous due to their size and weight. Trucks take longer to stop than smaller vehicles, and overturning can occur if a driver swerves sharply or brakes suddenly. Even low-speed collisions can result in serious injuries or significant vehicle damage.
Roadway conditions, driver fatigue, and vehicle maintenance are commonly reviewed after a crash involving large trucks. The position of the trucks, tire marks, and cargo load can help clarify how the collision happened. Understanding these factors provides context for why truck crashes often require extended lane closures and careful cleanup.
