Dinuba, CA (July 29, 2026) – Two people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon, July 27, at the intersection of East South Avenue and South Alta Avenue in Dinuba.

According to the California Highway Patrol incident log, the collision was reported around 3:13 p.m. and involved a gray Nissan Armada SUV and a blue Pontiac sedan. One of the vehicles came to rest in the intersection following the crash.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, and tow trucks were requested for both damaged vehicles. CHP later upgraded the incident from an unknown-injury collision to a minor injury crash, confirming that at least one person was hurt. A subsequent update indicated that the crash involved two vehicles and resulted in minor injuries.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved or additional details about the extent of the injuries. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. We are thinking of everyone involved and wish those injured a full and speedy recovery.

Why May Intersection Crashes Result in Injuries?

Intersections are among the most common locations for traffic collisions because vehicles traveling in different directions must cross paths within a relatively small area. Even at moderate speeds, side-impact and angled crashes can cause injuries because drivers have limited time to react.

Investigators typically examine vehicle damage, roadway evidence, witness statements, traffic control devices, and the final positions of the vehicles to determine how the collision occurred. These findings help establish the sequence of events and identify any contributing factors.

Emergency responders request tow trucks when vehicles sustain damage that makes them unsafe to drive. Clearing disabled vehicles from the intersection helps reduce congestion and lowers the risk of additional crashes while the investigation is underway.
