San Bernardino County, CA (September 9, 2026) – Two vehicles collided on northbound Interstate 15 near mile marker 153 early on Wednesday morning. The collision involved a gray Kia Forte and a gray Nissan Pathfinder.

The vehicles came to rest in the roadway, with one initially reported facing southbound in the northbound lanes. Both vehicles had no working lights, creating a hazard for passing traffic. The record also indicated that two people may have been hurt.

Emergency units were requested, and both vehicles required towing. Dense fog also affected the roadway. One vehicle was later cleared from the travel lanes.

Further details about the people hurt were not immediately available. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

We extend our thoughts to those affected and hope for their recovery.

What Can Make Interstate Crashes More Dangerous?

High-speed interstate travel can increase collision severity because vehicles cover more distance in less time. Limited visibility can add another challenge, especially when fog, darkness, or poorly lit vehicles reduce a driver’s ability to recognize hazards.

Drivers should reduce speed when visibility drops and leave extra space between vehicles. Keeping headlights and other required lights working can help make a vehicle easier to see. Staying alert also gives drivers more time to react when traffic suddenly slows, or another vehicle enters a travel lane.

Large trucks can create additional risks because of their size and stopping distance. Drivers should avoid sudden lane changes around trucks and remain aware of blind spots. Checking traffic conditions before traveling can also help motorists prepare for reduced visibility or roadway hazards.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.
