Understanding Multiple-Injury Intersection Collisions
Intersections bring vehicles traveling in different directions into the same area, creating several possible points of conflict.
When a collision occurs, more than one occupant may be exposed to impact forces, especially if vehicles are turning, crossing, or entering a major roadway.
Vehicle speed, impact angle, seating position, restraint use, and the number of occupants involved can all influence injury outcomes. Even when few details are initially available, multiple patients may require evaluation by emergency medical crews at the scene.
