What Information Is Typically Reviewed After an Intersection Crash?
When a crash occurs at an intersection, investigators often begin by examining the movements of the vehicles involved and determining which direction each was traveling before the collision. Traffic control devices, roadway markings, and visibility conditions are also commonly reviewed.
Intersections can present challenges because drivers must monitor cross traffic, turning vehicles, and changing roadway conditions simultaneously. Factors such as speed, driver reaction time, and right-of-way can become key parts of the review process.
Investigators may also analyze vehicle damage, witness statements, and physical evidence from the roadway. These details help reconstruct the sequence of events and provide a clearer understanding of how the crash occurred.
