What Information Is Often Collected After a Two-Vehicle Traffic Collision?
After a two-vehicle traffic collision, several types of information are commonly gathered to help create a clear account of what occurred. Investigators often document vehicle positions, roadway markings, weather conditions, and visibility at the time of the incident.
Photos of vehicle damage may also be reviewed alongside statements from drivers and witnesses. In some cases, airbag deployment data and other vehicle safety system records can provide additional details about the sequence of events. Traffic patterns, speed limits, and intersection design are frequently examined as well.
Medical evaluations may help determine the extent of reported injuries, particularly when people initially appear to have only minor harm. By combining physical evidence with witness accounts and vehicle information, a more complete picture can emerge regarding how the collision unfolded and what factors may have contributed to it.
