Walker, MN (September 4, 2026) – Two people were injured after a two-vehicle crash on Thursday, September 3, at the intersection of Highway 34 and Elm Avenue West in Walker, Cass County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2007 Hummer H3 was traveling northbound on Elm Avenue while a 2008 Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound on Highway 34. The Camry struck the Hummer after the Hummer pulled out in front of it.
The Hummer’s driver, 19-year-old Lake O’Neill Elling of Walker, was not injured. The Camry’s driver, 75-year-old Diane Margaret Herbst of Walker, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Joseph – Park Rapids.
The Camry’s 77-year-old passenger, Sorenson Andrew Peter of Walker, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Joseph – Park Rapids. No alcohol involvement was suspected, and the roadway was dry at the time of the crash.
The Walker Police Department and North Ambulance assisted at the scene.
