Barry County, MO (July 29, 2026) – Two drivers were hurt in a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 37 about one mile south of Butterfield on Monday, July 27. The collision was reported at approximately 3:09 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling south when it failed to stop at a stop sign and turned into the path of a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu then struck the Jetta. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the roadway.
The 54-year-old man driving the Jetta was reported with minor injuries and was taken by private party to Mercy Hospital in Cassville. The 54-year-old woman driving the Malibu was reported with moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation as investigators continue to review the available evidence. We hope both people injured make a smooth and complete recovery.
