Gallatin County, IL (August 5, 2026) – Two people died, and another was injured on Monday, August 3, in a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck. The vehicles came together at approximately 10:52 a.m. at the intersection of Ridgway New Haven Road and Shawneetown New Haven Road.
Both occupants of the passenger vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities had not been released at the time of the initial report.
The semi-truck driver was hurt and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. No details about that driver’s medical condition were provided.
Authorities continue examining the evidence to determine what caused the accident.
