Altamont, MO (July 15, 2026) – Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision on Route J at Titan Avenue, about one mile south of Altamont. The vehicles came together at approximately 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14.
A 2014 Ford F-250 was traveling north as a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu headed south. The pickup began turning left toward a private driveway as the Malibu crested a hill, and the fronts of the vehicles made contact.
The Malibu driver, a 24-year-old Cameron woman, and her 20-year-old male passenger from Lathrop were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with serious injuries. The 66-year-old Altamont woman driving the Ford was not listed among those hurt.
Both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest upright on opposite sides. Their names were not included in the initial report.
Investigators continue examining evidence to clarify the full sequence of events in the accident. We hope both hospitalized patients make steady progress in their recovery.
