Sarasota, FL (June 20, 2026) – Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving downed power lines on US-41 South at Glengary Street in Sarasota.
Emergency units responded to the scene after reports of a crash involving a black pickup truck and a dark red SUV on Thursday afternoon, June 18. Officials also reported that a vehicle struck a pole during the incident, causing power lines to fall into the roadway.
Responders confirmed that two vehicles sustained heavy damage. At least four people were involved, including two trauma alert patients who were transported to a nearby hospital. A third person, described as a walking wounded patient, was also taken for medical care.
At one point, all southbound traffic was stopped due to safety concerns related to the downed power lines. Further details regarding the accident have not been officially released.
