Crescent City, CA (August 29, 2026) – Emergency crews responded on Thursday afternoon, August 27, to a two-vehicle crash at U.S. Highway 101 and Lake Earl Drive near Crescent City. The incident was reported at approximately 3:05 p.m.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch records, the collision involved a blue Mazda SUV and a black Acura SUV. One person could be heard reporting an injury, and airbags had deployed.
Dispatch information also indicated that one of the vehicles was smoking after the crash. Fire crews and an ambulance responded to the scene, and towing services were requested for both vehicles.
The eastbound lane of Lake Earl Drive was blocked while crews handled the collision, with traffic being controlled through the area. Authorities continue investigating the crash.
