Bandera Co., TX (September 10, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash blocked Farm to Market Road 1283 in the Pipe Creek area on Tuesday, September 8. The collision was reported along the 1300 block, in front of the local fire station.
Emergency units were dispatched, and law enforcement later confirmed that the roadway was blocked. One tow truck was requested and later arrived to remove a vehicle. The roadway was reported clear by about 8:30 a.m. Investigators continue reviewing the crash.

How Can a Two-Vehicle Collision Block a Rural Roadway?
Rural roads usually have fewer travel lanes and narrower shoulders than major highways. When two vehicles stop in or near the travel lanes, there may be little room for other motorists to pass safely.
Vehicle position can also determine how much of the roadway becomes unusable. A car stopped sideways, partly off the pavement, or near a curve may require a larger safety buffer while crews work around it.
Tow operations can temporarily extend a closure because equipment needs space to connect, reposition, and remove disabled vehicles. Limited shoulders may leave few places for that work to occur outside active lanes. Once the vehicles are removed, traffic can usually resume, though brief backups may remain while waiting drivers begin moving again.
