Philadelphia, PA (September 12, 2026) – Two women were hurt after a dark-colored Mazda SUV was involved in two hit-and-run crashes on Thursday evening in Center City Philadelphia. The first crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. at 16th and Arch streets.
The SUV struck a 59-year-old woman as she crossed the street before the driver fled. The woman suffered a broken leg and was taken to Jefferson Hospital for treatment.
Moments later, the same SUV struck a Kia at 17th and Arch streets. The Mazda T-boned the Kia before the driver fled south on 17th Street. The 29-year-old Kia driver was taken to Jefferson Hospital with leg and hip pain. Both women are expected to survive. The circumstances surrounding the crashes remain under investigation.
