Henry County, VA (July 28, 2026) – A vehicle-pedestrian collision in Henry County left one person seriously injured on Sunday near Virginia Avenue and Dyer Street. The crash was reported around midnight on July 26.
The injured person was taken by ambulance to Stanleytown Elementary School, where a medical helicopter landing zone was established. The helicopter did not transport the patient; the flight crew instead accompanied the patient by ambulance to Sovah Health in Martinsville.
Additional emergency crews responded to assist at the scene. The incident remains under review by authorities. We wish the injured pedestrian a speedy and full recovery.
