Motorcycle Collisions in Intersection May Have Severe Consequences
Motorcycle crashes at intersections result in serious injuries because riders have far less protection than occupants of passenger vehicles. Even collisions occurring at moderate speeds can lead to catastrophic or fatal outcomes.
When investigating intersection crashes, authorities typically review right-of-way issues, traffic control devices, vehicle movements, roadway conditions, and witness statements. Crash reconstruction specialists may also assist in determining the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
Motorists and motorcyclists are encouraged to remain vigilant when approaching intersections and to carefully watch for other roadway users to help reduce the risk of serious crashes.
