Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if an oncoming car drifts into my lane?
Slow down, move right toward the shoulder, and sound your horn to alert the other driver. Avoid swerving sharply left, since that can put you directly into opposing traffic if the other vehicle corrects back.
What injuries are common in head-on crashes?
These collisions frequently cause chest, head, and leg injuries, along with internal trauma, because the combined speed of both vehicles increases the force of impact.
What typically causes head-on collisions?
Common causes include a driver drifting out of their lane, passing improperly, falling asleep at the wheel, or losing control on a curve. Investigators determine the specific cause case by case.
Why are head-on crashes usually so serious?
When two vehicles traveling in opposite directions collide, their combined speed is added together on impact, producing more force than most other crash types.
