Frequently Asked Questions
Why do multi-vehicle crashes happen at busy intersections?
They usually result from a combination of factors such as one driver misjudging timing, following too closely, or failing to stop in time, which can set off a chain reaction involving other vehicles nearby.
How can drivers stay safe when approaching a busy intersection?
Slowing down early, leaving extra space behind the vehicle ahead, and staying alert for sudden stops can help drivers react in time and avoid getting pulled into a crash.
What should I do if I come upon a crash scene like this one?
Slow down, move over if possible, and give emergency crews room to work. Avoid stopping in travel lanes unless it's necessary to help, and watch for responders directing traffic.
What are common injuries in multi-vehicle crashes?
Occupants can suffer anything from minor bruising and cuts to more serious injuries such as broken bones, head trauma, or internal injuries, depending on the speed and angle of impact.
