Warren, MI (March 12, 2026) – Two people, including a teen, were hospitalized after separate pedestrian crashes at two locations in Warren.
Emergency units responded to the first crash on Wednesday, March 11, near the intersection of Frazho Rd and Tecla St. Early reports indicate a 17-year-old boy was crossing the street when he was struck by a passing vehicle.
The teen was taken to a hospital for treatment. Officials reported that he was in stable condition following the crash.
A second crash was reported nearby at Hoover Rd and 10 Mile Rd. Authorities said a man in his 20s who was not in a crosswalk was struck by a vehicle at that location.
The man suffered critical injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Officials said the incident is not considered fatal at this time.
Investigators indicated that the two crashes occurred about 2.1 miles apart and do not appear to be connected. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of both incidents, and more details will be released as soon as they become available. We are thinking of those injured as they receive medical care.
Why Pedestrian Crashes Often Occur Near Busy Urban Intersections
Pedestrian crashes frequently occur on busy city roads where vehicles and pedestrians share the same space. Intersections and multi-lane roadways can be especially risky when drivers and pedestrians must react quickly to changing traffic conditions.
In some situations, pedestrians attempt to cross outside marked crosswalks. This can reduce visibility for drivers who may not expect someone to enter the roadway there. Limited lighting, parked vehicles, and traffic flow can also make it harder to see someone crossing.
Urban corridors with several connecting streets may also experience multiple crashes in a short period. Even when incidents occur close together geographically, they are not always connected and may involve completely separate circumstances.
