Weslaco, TX (January 20, 2026) – A man was injured Sunday after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross FM 1015 just outside Weslaco, according to information released by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The incident unfolded when a white Chevrolet Traverse, traveling northbound on FM 1015, collided with a pedestrian who entered the roadway. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and took immediate action to provide aid to the injured man following the impact.
Responding paramedics evaluated the victim, who was reportedly conscious at the scene despite sustaining injuries. He was transported by emergency medical services to McAllen Medical Center for further treatment. Authorities have not released any updates on his current condition.
DPS troopers continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the crash, including whether lighting conditions, visibility, or other environmental factors played a role in the pedestrian being struck.
