How Residential Fires Can Spread Quickly Inside a Home
House fires can grow rapidly, especially when flames reach areas with strong airflow like windows and doors. Once a fire gains oxygen, it can intensify within minutes and spread from room to room.
Smoke is often one of the biggest dangers in a residential fire. It can fill a home quickly, reducing visibility and making it harder to escape. Breathing in smoke may also lead to serious health issues, even if a person is not directly exposed to flames.
Having working smoke alarms and a clear exit plan can help people respond faster in an emergency. Keeping pathways clear and knowing multiple ways out of a home may improve the chances of getting to safety.
