Wilcox Co, AL (January 19, 2026) – A man from Arlington tragically lost his life early on Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Alabama Highway 5, just south of Pine Hill. The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. on January 18, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
State Troopers identified the victim as 32-year-old DeQuarius L. Pritchett. He was reportedly in the roadway when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced Pritchett deceased. The driver and vehicle involved have not yet been located.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is actively investigating the fatal incident. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision and to identify the vehicle and driver involved.
