Omaha, NE (July 31, 2026) – A 62-year-old woman died after a chain-reaction wreck involving two semi-trucks and her SUV on eastbound I-80 near 102nd Street in Omaha on Wednesday night, July 29, according to the police.
A Kenworth semi changing lanes struck her Chevrolet Equinox around 10:45 p.m., causing her to lose control and hit a concrete barrier before re-entering the roadway, where a Peterbilt semi struck her vehicle.
The Equinox caught fire after the crash. The woman was taken to CUHC-Bergan Mercy Hospital, where she died. The investigation remains ongoing.
