Port St. Lucie, FL (August 1, 2026) – An 86-year-old woman lost her life following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of SW Savona Boulevard and SW Lawndale Avenue in Port St. Lucie. The collision happened around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30.
According to police, Marie R. Martin was driving a 2006 Hyundai Elantra westbound on Lawndale Avenue when she entered the intersection from a stop sign area and failed to yield to a northbound Honda HR-V. The Honda, driven by a 17-year-old boy, struck the driver’s side of the Hyundai. Martin was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be removed before being taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital with critical injuries. She later died from her injuries. The teenage driver was not hurt.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, with more information to be provided when available.
