Driveway-Entry Collisions Can Lead to Serious Consequences
Crashes involving vehicles entering roadways from private driveways can occur when drivers misjudge the speed or distance of approaching traffic. These collisions leave motorists with little time to react and may result in significant injuries, particularly for passengers seated on the side of the vehicle nearest the point of impact.
Investigators typically review driver statements, vehicle damage, roadway conditions, and witness accounts to determine the sequence of events. Authorities may also examine visibility, traffic flow, and right-of-way requirements as part of their investigation.
Fatal crashes require a detailed review to establish all contributing circumstances and help improve roadway safety awareness.
