Jamesport, MO (August 5, 2026) – A 73-year-old woman was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Missouri 6 and Route NN in Jamesport on Monday morning. The accident occurred at about 11:20 a.m. in Daviess County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry and attempting to make a left turn from Route NN onto northbound MO 6. Her vehicle entered the path of a southbound 2015 Dodge Ram driven by a 65-year-old Brimson man, and the pickup struck the driver’s side of the Camry.

The 73-year-old Trenton woman was taken to Mosaic Life Care with serious injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram was not reported injured.

The cause of the collision remains under review, and additional details may be released as the investigation continues. We are keeping the injured woman in our thoughts and wishing her a full recovery.

Why Left-Turn Collisions Usually Result in Serious Injuries

Left-turn collisions are among the more common types of intersection accidents because drivers must cross the path of oncoming traffic. Judging the speed and distance of approaching vehicles can be difficult, especially on highways with higher travel speeds.

Side-impact collisions can cause significant harm because there is less space between the point of impact and the vehicle’s occupants. Drivers can help reduce these risks by waiting for a safe opening before turning, watching carefully for approaching traffic, and obeying traffic signs and signals. Remaining attentive at intersections can help improve safety for everyone on the road.
