Houston, TX (September 7, 2026) – A woman in her 20s was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the 12900 block of Westheimer Road in west Houston late on Saturday night, September 5. The crash happened around 11:51 p.m.
Investigators said a group of women was crossing the roadway to reach a nearby club when a vehicle struck one of them. The group was not using a designated crosswalk at the time of the collision. The woman was taken to a hospital with critical injuries and later died. Her identity had not been released pending notification of her family.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The driver was detained and questioned, with no immediate signs of impairment reported. A large crowd gathered after the crash, and tensions escalated as the investigation continued. Officers separated those involved while investigators worked at the scene.
