Spartanburg County, SC (July 27, 2026) – One person died, and another was hurt on Saturday morning, July 25, after a single-vehicle rollover crash on SC 146 near Miller Rd in Spartanburg County.

The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and had not been publicly identified. The driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries of unknown severity. The investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing as officials continue reviewing the circumstances.

Our condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the person who lost their life.

Why Are Rollover Crashes So Dangerous?

Rollover crashes can create serious risks because vehicles may experience multiple movements after leaving the roadway. Occupants can face increased danger depending on factors such as vehicle speed, terrain, and whether safety restraints are used.

Investigators usually examine roadway conditions, vehicle damage, and physical evidence to determine what caused a vehicle to leave its path. Details such as steering actions, road design, and environmental conditions may also be reviewed.

Drivers can lower the risk of rollovers by adjusting speeds, staying focused, and avoiding sudden maneuvers. Wearing seat belts and maintaining control of a vehicle are key safety practices that can help protect occupants during unexpected situations.
