Fresno County, CA (June 20, 2026) – A 67-year-old man lost his life following a rollover along Interstate 5 in Fresno County on Thursday afternoon. The fatal crash was reported shortly before 3:00 p.m. on June 18, just north of Gale Avenue.
According to preliminary information, a 2006 gold Mercedes was traveling north on I-5 when it suddenly veered into the dirt median. The vehicle rotated counterclockwise, crossed to the opposite side of the interstate, overturned beyond a guardrail, and went down an embankment before coming to rest on its side.
Two people were inside the Mercedes at the time. A passerby helped remove both occupants from the vehicle before emergency units arrived. The driver received CPR but was pronounced dead at the roadside. The passenger, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with severe injuries. Investigators are still working to determine what caused the wreck.
