Glendale, AZ (September 2, 2026) – A fatal multi-vehicle collision involving four vehicles occurred on August 31 on SR-101 near Cardinals Way, leaving one passenger dead and five other people injured.
According to the initial report, a gray sport utility vehicle rear-ended another car, setting off a chain reaction involving the other vehicles. One of the cars involved then left the scene.
Crystal Armenta Moreno, 28, of Tucson, Arizona, was seriously injured and later died at the hospital. Five others were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Impairment appears to have been a factor in the wreck, according to the initial information. The circumstances surrounding the fatal accident remain under review as more details are gathered.
