Leominster, MA (August 11, 2026) – One person died, and another was hurt Tuesday morning, August 11, after two vehicles collided on I-190 in Leominster during the morning commute.
The collision occurred around 5:15 a.m. on the southbound side of I-190. A 55-year-old man from Fitchburg was pronounced dead at the site, while the other driver was taken to a nearby hospital.
The southbound highway was closed between Routes 2 and 117 for about two hours as emergency units worked at the site. Traffic restrictions caused significant disruption during the morning commute.
The cause of the wreck has not been determined, and the investigation into what led to the fatal accident remains ongoing.
