Reno, NV (August 11, 2026) – Three people were injured Tuesday, August 11, in a partial head-on collision on Geiger Grade Road, also known as State Route 341. The crash occurred around 5:00 a.m. near King Lane and mile marker 4 in Washoe County.
One patient was flown to a local hospital with critical injuries. A second person was taken by ground ambulance with serious injuries, while a third received non-life-threatening injuries.
The roadway was closed in both directions for several hours while responders assisted those involved and cleared the area.
Authorities continue reviewing the crash. We hope all three injured people have a swift and full recovery.
Factors Behind Different Injury Levels
A partial head-on impact can affect each vehicle differently depending on where the front ends make contact. One occupant may experience greater force than another because of seating position, vehicle structure, or the angle of the strike.
