Franklin Park, IL (June 17, 2026) – A 19-year-old man lost his life following an e-bike collision at the intersection of Belmont Avenue and George Street in Franklin Park on Tuesday, June 16.
According to reports, Luis Toaquiza was riding an e-bike around 6:30 a.m. when he came into contact with a vehicle operated by a 63-year-old man near Mannheim Road. Emergency units arrived and took the teen to a nearby medical center, where he died about 30 minutes later.
The motorist remained on the roadway and cooperated with investigators. Details explaining how the accident occurred have not yet been released, and no citations or criminal charges had been announced as of this report. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
