Tucker, GA (September 7, 2026) – A 19-year-old Atlanta man died after a pursuit involving a Georgia State Patrol vehicle ended when the patrol vehicle struck a truck early on Sunday morning, September 6. The pursuit began after reports of illegal stunt driving near Kilman Dr and Bibb Blvd.
Several vehicles fled as troopers arrived, including a Chrysler 300 that reportedly drove over a curb while attempting to leave. A K9 trooper pursuing the Chrysler through the intersection of Mountain Industrial Blvd and Hugh Howell Rd then collided with a truck believed to have been involved in the stunt driving.
Both vehicles caught fire, and the trooper and K9 escaped before attempting to help the people inside the truck. Anthony Angeles, 19, later died at a local hospital, while the truck’s driver, Emilio DeJesus, 20, of Conyers, was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
The trooper involved has not been publicly identified and remains on administrative leave during a review of the pursuit and related actions. The investigation into the fatal accident is continuing as additional details are gathered.
