Las Vegas, NV (September 7, 2026) – A 3-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man were critically hurt on Saturday evening, September 6, after being struck by a Mitsubishi Outlander on E Craig Rd near Puebla St in northeast Las Vegas.

The collision occurred shortly before 8 p.m. as the Mitsubishi traveled west on Craig Road with two passengers. Three pedestrians were attempting to cross the roadway outside a marked or implied crosswalk.

According to the initial report, the man was carrying the boy when he left a concrete median and walked into the path of the SUV. A 22-year-old woman who was also crossing avoided being struck.

Emergency units took the man and child to UMC, where both remained in critical condition. The police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident.

We hope the boy and man receive the care and support needed during their recovery.

What Factors Can Be Reviewed After a Pedestrian Is Struck?

After a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle, several details may be reviewed to determine how the wreck occurred. These can include where people were walking, whether a marked crossing was nearby, and the direction each vehicle was traveling. Road design, lighting, visibility, traffic flow, and weather may also provide useful context.

Witness accounts and available video footage can help establish the sequence of events. Vehicle damage and physical evidence on the roadway may offer additional information about movement before contact occurred. Medical records can also document the extent of harm to those involved. Early reports may contain only limited facts, while additional details sometimes become available later as information is gathered and reviewed.
