Marion County, FL (September 9, 2026) – A 29-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning, September 9, on County Rd 200A near NE 110th St.
The man was walking along the east shoulder shortly after 8 a.m. when a silver Ford Explorer traveling northbound struck him. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver initially left without stopping. About an hour later, the driver returned, admitted involvement in the wreck, and was arrested. The driver was identified as Matthew Boardman, 29, of Marion County. He faces a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remains ongoing.
