What Information Is Usually Reviewed After a Fatal Motorcycle Accident?
After a fatal motorcycle accident, investigators typically review several types of information to determine how the vehicles came together. They may examine physical evidence, vehicle damage, photographs, and available video footage. Witness accounts can also help establish the sequence of actions leading up to the collision.
Investigators may review the direction each vehicle was traveling and whether either driver made sudden movements before contact occurred. Road conditions, traffic signals, visibility, and weather can provide additional context. When one vehicle leaves before the investigation is complete, evidence gathered from the roadway and nearby cameras may become especially useful. Medical findings and motorcycle damage can also help clarify the severity of the forces involved and provide a fuller picture of what happened.
