Anza, CA (June 7, 2026) – One person lost their life on Saturday, June 6, following a motorcycle crash on State Route 74 near Carrizo Road in Riverside County.
According to CHP dispatch reports, the wreck was first reported around 3:13 p.m. Early information indicated a motorcycle was involved, with reports of injuries among the people involved. Witnesses later advised that a motorcycle and a vehicle had gone down an embankment and were no longer visible from the highway.
Further updates confirmed that two motorcycles and a vehicle were involved near Call Box 832 along SR-74. One vehicle went over the side of the roadway, and emergency units closed both directions of the highway while crews worked in the mountainous terrain. A coroner was requested shortly after 3:40 p.m., confirming a fatality. Tow trucks were later called to recover a sedan and multiple motorcycles that sustained major damage.
Traffic remained shut down for several hours between Pinyon Drive and Big Horn Drive before one-lane traffic control was established. Full access through the corridor was restored later that evening. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding what led to the fatal crash.

These factors often contribute to lengthy roadway closures while recovery operations and safety assessments are completed.
