Honolulu, HI (September 5, 2026) – A woman who was badly burned died after two people were hurt on Thursday, September 3, in Nanakuli. Emergency units were alerted shortly after 2 a.m. at a property on Farrington Hwy near Black Rock Beach.
The fire involved rubbish and a tent, and two people reportedly became trapped. Medical crews treated a 65-year-old woman for severe burns covering most of her body, along with several minor burns elsewhere.
She was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where she later died. A man in his 60s also received treatment for serious burns to his feet and minor burns to other parts of his body before being taken to an emergency room in serious condition.
The investigation into what caused the fire remains underway.
