Barberton, OH (September 6, 2026) – A 34-year-old woman died on Friday, September 4, after a truck struck her while she was leaving work at Summa Barberton Citizens Hospital. The woman was in the hospital’s docking area when the truck backed up at about 3:05 p.m.
She was taken to the hospital’s emergency department for treatment. The woman later died from her injuries at about 3:57 p.m., according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The circumstances surrounding the truck’s movements and the woman’s position in the docking area were not immediately detailed in the initial report. Her identity was also not released.
