What Happens After a Serious Two-Vehicle Collision?
After a serious two-vehicle accident, emergency crews first focus on reaching people who may be trapped or hurt. Extrication may be needed when doors, seats, or other parts of a vehicle prevent someone from getting out safely.
Medical teams assess the person’s condition and determine the appropriate level of care. When specialized treatment is needed, an air medical flight can provide faster access to a trauma center, particularly when serious injuries are suspected.
Investigators may later review vehicle damage, roadway design, weather, traffic conditions, witness accounts, and available photographs. Information from medical records can also help document the type and severity of injuries. These details can provide a clearer picture of what occurred and help establish an accurate record of the collision.
