Sanford, FL (September 6, 2026) – A motorcyclist died on Friday evening, September 4, after a three-vehicle accident on Celery Avenue in Sanford, according to the provided report.
The 58-year-old Sanford man was riding a 2025 Kawasaki Versys 1100 westbound on Celery Avenue at about 5:31 p.m. A 25-year-old Deltona man was driving a 2013 Ford Focus eastbound near North Beardall Avenue.
The report states that the Focus driver began passing traffic in a no-passing zone and entered the westbound lane. The Ford then struck the motorcycle head-on, throwing the rider from the bike.
After hitting the motorcycle, the Focus rotated and struck the rear left side of a 2007 Toyota Avalon. The Avalon was driven by a 56-year-old Deltona man who was also traveling eastbound on Celery Avenue.
The two drivers were not injured and stayed at the crash site. The motorcycle rider was taken to HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
