Cape Coral, FL (July 21, 2026) – One person was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle crash involving a Cape Coral police patrol vehicle late on Sunday night at the intersection of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Veterans Parkway.
The collision occurred at approximately 10 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the police officer involved sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle was taken from the scene with serious injuries.
The patrol vehicle sustained extensive front-end damage, and the second vehicle sustained heavy damage as well. The identities of those involved and the circumstances leading up to the crash have not been released.
Investigators are continuing to examine the cause of the collision, and more information is expected as the review progresses.
