Boardman, OH (August 24, 2026) – Police worked to clear debris after two vehicles collided on South Ave on Saturday, August 22, at about 3:40 p.m. A vehicle traveling southbound was struck by a driver attempting to cross the street.

Police said a gray car failed to yield while leaving a plaza parking lot and crossing onto Larkridge Ave. The gray car hit the bumper of a red vehicle traveling along South Ave, causing the red car to spin and overturn.

The passenger in the red vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation as more information becomes available.

Our thoughts are with the person hurt in the collision as they recover.

What Happens When a Vehicle Overturns After a Roadway Collision?

When a vehicle overturns, investigators may examine the direction and force of the movement to understand how it happened. Vehicle damage can provide clues about where the first contact occurred and how the vehicles moved afterward.

Photographs may document damage to bumpers, doors, windows, and other parts. Investigators can also review roadway markings, traffic signs, and nearby parking lot entrances. Witness accounts may help establish which vehicle was moving and whether a driver yielded before entering the road.

Medical records can provide information about injuries reported after a wreck. Even minor injuries may require documentation when a person receives treatment at a hospital. The vehicles’ positions after the collision can also help clarify their movements before they came to rest.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
