Detroit Lakes, MN (August 26, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident was reported on Wednesday morning, August 26, at the intersection of Hwy 59 and County Road 131 in Detroit Township, Becker County.
The Minnesota State Patrol report states that a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling eastbound onto County Road 131 while a 2011 Ford F-150 was heading north on Hwy 59. The vehicles collided at the intersection around 8:42 a.m.
The F-150 driver, 71-year-old Louie Nathan Johannsen of Bovey, was injured and taken to Saint Marys Detroit Lakes for treatment. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening. The Suburban driver, 20-year-old Alexis Kay Blake of Detroit Lakes, was not hurt.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The F-150’s airbag deployed, while the Suburban’s did not. Emergency units assisted following the accident. The circumstances leading to the collision remain under investigation as officials work to determine what happened.
