Fagus, MO (August 10, 2026) – A 2004 Chevrolet Venture struck two pedestrians along the edge of Co Rd 228 about four miles east of Fagus at about 7:41 p.m. on Saturday, August 8.
The westbound vehicle was driven by a 21-year-old man from Qulin, Missouri. The two pedestrians were a 62-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman, both from Dexter, Missouri.
The male pedestrian was killed and pronounced dead at 7:41 p.m. by Butler County Coroner Jim Akers. His remains were taken to the Butler County morgue.
The female pedestrian was seriously hurt and taken by air ambulance to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. The Chevrolet Venture sustained total damage and was removed by a towing service. The investigation into the accident remains underway as officials work to determine what led to the collision.
