Wyandanch, NY (June 16, 2026) – A motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a collision at the intersection of Long Island Avenue and Little East Neck Road in Wyandanch late on Saturday night.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash occurred at about 11:10 p.m. on June 13. Investigators said Kemish Hutton-Murray, 43, of Wyandanch, was driving a Honda Accord and making a left turn when a northbound Yamaha motorcycle struck the passenger side of the car.

The rider, identified as 30-year-old Kendron Rivers of Huntington Station, was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries. Hutton-Murray was not injured in the wreck.

No additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash were released.

Investigators continue to review the facts surrounding the collision. We are thinking of the injured rider and wish him a full recovery.

Why Are Intersections Common Locations for Motorcycle Crashes?

Intersections are among the most frequent locations for motorcycle crashes because vehicles traveling in different directions must cross paths. Left-turn movements can be particularly challenging when drivers are judging the speed and distance of oncoming traffic. Motorcycles are smaller than most passenger vehicles, which can sometimes make them harder to notice, especially at night or in heavy traffic.

Several factors may affect visibility and reaction time at intersections, including lighting conditions, traffic volume, weather, and roadway design. Riders and drivers alike must make quick decisions while monitoring traffic in multiple directions. Because motorcycles offer less physical protection than enclosed vehicles, riders may face a greater risk of serious injury in a collision. Safe speeds, careful observation, and clear right-of-way awareness can help reduce risks at intersections.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.

Focus on your recovery and
