Richland County, WI (August 18, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision on Monday, August 17, left a 38-year-old man seriously hurt after he was ejected from a Ford Escape near US Highway 14 and Twin Bluffs Drive. Emergency units went to the crash shortly after it occurred on Monday, August 17.
The Ford Escape was traveling from Twin Bluffs Drive and attempting to turn onto US Highway 14 when it was struck by an eastbound milk truck. Witnesses told investigators that the Escape did not make a complete stop at the stop sign before entering the highway.
The Escape had also been reported to dispatch for traveling along a gravel bike trail between Gotham and Twin Bluffs shortly before the wreck. The driver was taken by air to UW Hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
The 58-year-old milk truck driver from Dodgeville cooperated with the investigation. The Wisconsin State Patrol was asked to assist with crash reconstruction and a commercial vehicle inspection, while US Highway 14 remained closed for several hours.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation as officials work to establish the full sequence of events.
